We are looking for a Head Barista to come and join The Coffee Cart Company, coffee is more than just a beverage – it’s our passion and our pride. As coffee specialists, we’re dedicated to delivering top-tier quality, exceptional service, and consistent results in every cup. Our success starts with our expert team of baristas, meticulously trained to exceed expectations at every one of our Coffee Cart venues.

We are looking for an experienced Head Barista to join our team. This pivotal role involves maintaining our high standards of coffee quality and service, while training and leading the barista team. You’ll also contribute to enhancing the overall customer experience by introducing new coffee innovations and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Coffee & Beverage Program:
Oversee coffee and beverage quality across three sites, ensuring consistent product excellence.

2. Train & Develop Barista Team:
Provide advanced barista training to elevate skills and techniques, focusing on craft improvement.

3. Educate Hospitality Team:
Train the broader hospitality team on coffee offerings and retail items to enhance customer experience.

4. Organize Cupping & Tasting Sessions:
Host regular sessions to refine the team’s palate and deepen their knowledge of coffee.

5. Maintain Coffee Equipment:
Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and identify areas for improvement to optimize performance.

6. Innovate & Develop Menus:
Create and introduce seasonal drinks and recipes, adding excitement to the menu.

7. Set & Communicate Recipes:
Establish recipes for filters and espressos, adjusting for taste and consistency, and effectively communicating to the team.

8. Motivate the Team:
Inspire your team to maintain passion for coffee and exceptional customer service.

9. Collaborate with Management:
Work closely with the management team on various tasks and projects to achieve company goals.

10. Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
Build relationships with customers, providing personalized service and ensuring an unforgettable coffee experience.

11. Showcase Advanced Latte Art:
Offer advanced training in latte art, enabling the team to display creativity and enhance the visual appeal of beverages.

12. Adhere to Food Safety Standards:
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP principles and allergen procedures, to ensure top-tier hygiene and safety.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Barista Experience: 3+ years (required)
  • Hospitality Experience: 3+ years (preferred)
  • Customer Service: 3+ years (preferred)
  • Comprehensive Coffee Knowledge: Expertise in coffee beans, brewing techniques, and equipment
  • Passion for Coffee Excellence: A keen eye for detail and dedication to producing high-quality coffee
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to confidently train and motivate a team

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 per annum
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, including 2 weekends per month
