As an experienced Head Barista, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of coffee quality and service consistency. This entails ensuring the continual excellence of our products while prioritising efficiency in service delivery.

To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of three years of barista experience, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of coffee equipment and beans. A keen eye for detail and an unwavering passion for crafting exceptional coffee are essential attributes we seek in potential candidates.

As the Head Barista at the Coffee Cart Company, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Leading the Coffee & Beverage Programme: Overseeing the coffee and beverage program across our three sites to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Training and Developing the Barista Team: Equipping the barista team with advanced coffee skills and techniques to elevate their craft.
  • Training the Wider Hospitality Team: Educating the broader hospitality team on guest filters and retail items to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Conducting Cupping/Tasting Sessions: Organising regular cupping and tasting sessions for the team to refine their palate and deepen their understanding of coffee.
  • Equipment Upkeep and Maintenance: Ensuring the upkeep and proper maintenance of equipment, proactively identifying areas for improvement to optimize performance.
  • Innovation and Menu Development: Spearheading the innovation and implementation of new, seasonal drinks for the menu to excite and engage customers.
  • Recipe Setting and Communication: Establishing recipes for new filters/espressos, adjusting for taste, and effectively communicating these recipes to the barista team.
  • Team Motivation and Customer Service: Inspiring and motivating the team to maintain a passion for coffee, drinks, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Collaboration with Management: Collaborating with the management team on both independent tasks and larger projects to drive the company’s overall objectives forward.
  • Exemplary Customer Service: Providing exemplary customer service, fostering relationships with regular customers, and brightening their day with personalised experiences.
  • Comprehensive Coffee Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of all current coffees, including tasting notes and recipes, to ensure consistency and excellence in every cup served.
  • Advanced Latte Art Training: Provide advanced training in latte art techniques such as rosettas and other intricate designs, enabling the barista team to showcase their creativity and enhance the visual appeal of our beverages.
  • Adherence to Food Safety Standards: Maintain strict adherence to current food safety legislation and safe working practices, including HACCP principles and in-house allergen procedures, to guarantee the highest standards of hygiene and customer safety at all times.

Experience Required for the role:

  • Barista experience: 3 years (required)
  • Hospitality: 3 years (preferred)
  • customer service: 3 years (preferred)

Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 per annum

40 hours per week, to include 2 weekends per month.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
