Being a trained barista would be an advantage in this role however here at the Coffee Cart Company, we provide comprehensive barista training to all our café staff, along with thorough instruction in processes and equipment operation. With our guidance and support, you’ll quickly develop into a highly skilled barista, capable of delivering exceptional coffee experiences to our customers.

To thrive in this role, you should have a minimum of two years of experience working in a café environment, coupled with a strong background in customer service.

Shift Leader

The Shift Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations within our stores. Their responsibilities include:

  • The Key holder: Opening and closing the store, ensuring all procedures are followed for security and operational readiness.
  • Conducting morning coffee checks: Verifying quality and consistency, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Possessing strong coffee knowledge: To guide staff and assist customers with product selection and inquiries.
  • Collaborating closely with head baristas: To mentor and support their development, fostering a strong team dynamic.
  • Customer Care: Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, including hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ongoing commitment to training: Assisting with training and development initiatives to improve staff skills and performance.
  • Collaborating with the management team: To address operational challenges and implement solutions.
  • Performing cash handling duties: Including opening and closing tills and reconciling cash registers.
  • Taking on leadership roles: During peak periods or in the absence of higher management to maintain smooth operations and uphold service standards.
  • Acting Responsibly: Responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the shift.
  • Maintaining Clean workstations: Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to uphold brand standards and hygiene regulations.

Overall, the shift leader plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence, fostering a positive work culture, and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Experience Required for the role:

  • Coffee Shop experience: 2 years (required)
  • customer service: 3 years (preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 hrs per week
